Why are so many people hating on the fact that the show is in chinese?

Honestly!? Nothing irritates me more than the "omg i hate it so much because its in Chinese" gang.

1. They're not obligated to watch it. They chose to.
2. Those hating do so because its trendy to hate on Chinese productions.
3. Chinese, the language, isnt even as bad as people make it out to be. It took little to no effort on my part to familiarise, accept and then fall inlove with the language.
4. I feel that the very same people would have said exactly the same thing about Japanese had they started their anime adventures watching Chinese productions.

i mean i can somewhat understand where you are coming from but here are my two cents
1 you are right about that
2 definitely not. yes there might be some people like that but i dont think the majority thinks that way. i for one dislike the language (something that will take some getting use too) but i really do love everything else(atleast when it comes to the few chinese anime that i watched).
3 yes true but with this anime in particular its more the fact that the manga was japanese and people expected nd wanted a japanese adaptation. thats why some people dislike/hate it. i didnt know about the manga before i saw this anime so i dont care too much either way but i ofcourse would have prefered japanese
4 yeah thats true. nostalgia can cloud your judgement and its also what a lot off people are used too. but you can say that about any animation. that isnt just a thing with chinese anime. so i wouldnt really think of that as the "chinese hate gang" but just "i only love japanese anime only gang"

but yeah i im really looking forward too this too. it gives me overlord vibes. he probably shouldnt want to tell her the truth even if the dragon wants too until they defeat the demon lord because that would most likely cause a lot of problems.

Personally, if an anime I was highly anticipating (like Demon Slayer) came out with English dubs only, I'd be pissed as it would be unwatchable for me. I think it's more the fact that it isn't in Japanese that's the problem.

But that's just me. Most of the comments seem to be hating more on the fact that it's in Mandarin, rather than the fact that it's not in Japanese.

I guess it's easy for people to make crude comments when their faces are hidden behind a computer screen. I doubt they'd dare say such a thing to people's faces directly though.

but thats the thing tho. what you described is exactly what some people feel. they were waiting anticipating this and got the chinese dub/english dub. especially when the manga and light novel where in japanese and people expected the anime would be the same. i doubt you would see a lot of these people if the manga and light novel were also chinese. most of these people would also complain if it was korean or any other dub for that matter. because that is not how light novel or manga was.

Except I wouldn't be shitting on the English language. I'd just be upset there isn't Japanese VO

people have a problem with this being chinese because the light novel and manga that a lot of people read was japanese. thats why people hate this. they could have dubbed this and french, dutch(which i am) or english only and people would have disliked it. why? because the source material is JAPANESE. but nope i guess people that have a problem with this are all racist with no exceptions.

and if you learned how to read, i wouldnt repeat myself. but ofcourse like every other time you cherrypick the things you read ignore everything else and call people names.

First - because of the language. I'm kinda frustrated that the VO is in Chinese. When I'm watching anime in Japanese, I know a lot of phrases without a need to read the subs. Second - most Chinese cartoons are either subpar or so culturally different that you just get lost, and they don't even see a need to explain stuff - and that's why most times I don't risk watching Chinese toons. It's a complex problem. And it's not only Chinese. Anime in either English or my mother tounge also feels cringy to me.

It's one thing to not like a work because you don't like the story or something. It's a whole other deal to hate something because the characters speak in Chinese... That's just racist.

The language is very different in structure and sound to what I am accustom to. The subs tend to be poorly translated and the pronunciation holds too many sh and ch with sharp vowels. If I cut the sound I lose the mood from the music and am reliant on poor translations. Japanese vocals tend to have more experience expressing emotions through speech and the language is easier on the foreign listener. But whatever, I'm must be racist since CCP is so perfect.

Chinese isn't a race, so it isn't racist. Chinese is a nationality, if you don't like a nation that is bigotry.
